Bucket List: Halloween Edition

So I'm almost halfway through my last year of college (OMG!!!) and I realized I still have a ton to cross of my bucket list. Some of the things I don't think will happen, such as tailgate at another college, mostly due to lack of time. But, our football team is undefeated, which means PLAYOFF GAMES are going to be a thing this year.

Anyways, this weekend was Halloween, and one thing on my bucket list was to wear a different costume every night of Halloween (Because in college world, there are 3-4 nights). Here's a quick recap of my Halloween weekend, along with some tips for super cheap, last minute costumes!

So I went as Mermaid Man from Spongebob Squarepants. The story behind this costume: We were having a Halloween Party during our PRSSA meeting, and I was talking mad game about how I had the best costume out there. The fun part about this story is I actually had no idea what I was going to be. I ended up finding this costume, along with all my other costumes, on Pinterest. I happened to have a pizza box under my bed (still not sure why) so I made some clam shells and a orange "M." My costume was great, besides the fact my tights decided to burst during the middle of my meeting. I think that's my sign I need to go on a diet. Regardless, the costume was a success. Total cost of this costume: FREE!

On night two, I decided to dress up as an Indian. A pretty basic and overused costume, but easy and cheap. I had some friends over (Hence Tarah the Cat chillin' with me) and we hung out at my place and then went to some bars. It was a super fun night. This costume would have been a lot cheaper to make, but I was fresh out of white shirts to cut up. College tip of the day: Always have a stock of plain white t-shirts you can cut up. This was my favorite costume of the weekend because it was really comfy and didn't involve showing too much skin. It was freezing this weekend in Michigan, so I wasn't trying to strut around town in a mini skirt and a bra. I wouldn't would even if it's warm though.s. Again, I got this idea from Pinterest. Cost of this costume: Less than $10

This is my boyfriend, Erik, and I. We have been together for a little over two years (we actually started dating Halloween weekend back in the day) and so we are all about couples costumes. Last year we went as rednecks. It was pretty cute. For those of you who have no idea what this is, you must not be a 90's kid. Or you didn't have T.V. But this is Cosmo and Wanda from the Fairly Odd Parents on Nickelodeon (AKA, my favorite show growing up). I sent him a picture of the Cosmo and Wanda costume as a joke, thinking he was going to say no. Surprisingly, he agreed (he didn't even oppose when I told him he had to make his hair green!) This costume was super cheap as well, all I had to buy was a yellow shirt, some colored hair spray and some construction paper to make crowns. All I did was put on some leggings, throw on the shirt, put my hair in a quick sock bun, spray my hair pink and then put the crown on! It took about five minutes to get ready, which was awesome. We got so many compliments on this costume and people thought we were so creative! (Again, took the idea from Pinterest.) The cost for both of these costumes: $10

So that was my Halloween weekend in a nutshell. What type of costumes did you make? Share your best DIY costumes below!

Until Next Time,
